For junior paddlers who have progressed beyond our beginner programs, the Junior Development Squad (JDS) provides a structured pathway for athletes looking to develop their racing skills and achieve their competitive goals. Through a combination of flatwater and whitewater training, athletes build technical skills, fitness and race experience while progressing towards state, national and international competition.
Our foundation squad trains two to four times a week. Paddlers work on technique and fitness in the flatwater, and work on their slalom racing skills in the whitewater.
Foundation paddlers aim to compete in state and national age championships.
Our performance squad trains up to six times a week. Paddlers work on technique and fitness in the flatwater, and work on their slalom racing skills in the whitewater.
Performance paddlers aim to compete in national and international competitions.
We acknowledge the Darug people as the traditional owners of the lands and waterways on which we live, work and paddle. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and celebrate the deep and enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country.
